In the last 24 hours, 17 militants of banned organizations have been arrested from four districts of Manipur. The police gave this information on Friday. A statement issued by the police said that 13 militants of the banned organization ‘Kanglei Yavol Kanna Lup’ (KYKL) were arrested on Thursday from Moirang Kiam Leikai area of Bishnupur district.
The statement said that a total of 27 cartridges, three ‘walkie-talkie sets’, army uniforms and other items were also seized. Those arrested have been taken to Imphal for detailed investigation.
Police said a militant of the banned organization ‘United National Liberation Front (P)’ was arrested on Thursday from Nagariyan Ching area in Imphal Eastern district.
Police said, “The arrested person was involved in forcible recovery activities.” He said that security forces on Thursday arrested a member of ‘Congress Communist Party (City Meeti’ from Nagaikhong Khullen area of Bishnupur district. .
The police have arrested an active member of KYKL from Kakching Suk Laikai area in Kakching district involved in forcible recovery activity. Police said that security forces arrested a member of KCP (PWG) from Fedinga in Imphal West District.
