Imphal . Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh said a total of 314.471 kg of seized narcotics were disposed of at a bio-medical waste disposal center in Imphal West district. Singh said that the state government has been waging a war against drugs since 2018 under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He said the war against drugs is not just a campaign, it is a mission to protect our future generations, protect the integrity of our society and ensure a bright future for Manipur.
He said, “Let us all unite in this effort and strengthen our resolve and commitment to make Manipur a drug-free state.” Singh said, today 314 kg of various narcotics including 9 kg of heroin were destroyed. Our aim is to completely defeat those involved in drugs. We will also continue to destroy opium plantations and actively work against drug smugglers on the highways, border areas and in every part of the state. This is necessary to save our people and especially the youth.
