928 Schools in Uttar Pradesh to get facelift under PM SHRI Yojana in first phase

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched PM SHRI Schools in the state. Participants from 928 locations virtually joined the launch ceremony held in Lucknow yesterday. The dignitaries visited an exhibition set up by the school children. While addressing the event, Mr Pradhan expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for improving the infrastructure of the schools to provide world-class education and making it one of the major agendas of the government. He said, the upgradation and modernization of 928 government schools of Uttar Pradesh are being taken up PM SHRI scheme in the first phase, which includes 81 Kendriya and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas. Mr. Pradhan also commended the efforts of the UP Chief Minister in implementing the recommendations of the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in the state in the last three years. The Union Minister also mentioned that NEP 2020, as a philosophical document, has the potential to lead the world. Addressing the event, Yogi Adityanath said a total of 1753 schools have been selected for upgradation under PM SHRI Schools throughout the state. He said, improvements in infrastructure such as Baal Vatika, smart classrooms, science laboratories, digital libraries, and sports facilities, will be introduced in the schools, resulting in the development of integrated campuses for providing holistic school education.
