A total of 97 people have been arrested in such cases so far after two more people were arrested for allegedly ‘anti -Hindu’ from various parts of Assam after the Pahalgam terror attack.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Vishwa Sharma gave this information on Monday. Sharma wrote on ‘X’ that one person was arrested from Tinsukia and Nagaon districts. He said, “Action on anti -Hindu elements continues … 97 anti -national and anti -Hindu criminals now behind bars.”

The Chief Minister said that the person arrested from Tinsukia had shared objectionable material on Hinduism on social media, while the accused in Nagaon made derogatory remarks on Lord Ram.

Earlier, opposition AIUDF MLA Aminul Islam was arrested on charges of treason for allegedly defending Pakistan and its collusion in the Pahalgam terror attack.

After getting bail in the case, Islam was again detained under the National Security Act (Rasuka). Sharma had threatened to ‘break the legs’ of those who raised the slogan of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ after the Jammu and Kashmir terror attack on May 2.

Addressing a rally for the panchayat elections, he appealed to the people to give strength and pray to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian Army, so that Pakistani terrorists hidden anywhere in the world would be caught and ‘break their legs’.

On April 22, a major tourist place in Pahalgam, South Kashmir was attacked by militants, killing 26 people, most of whom were tourists. Many others were injured in the attack.
