A man absconding for five years in MCOCA case from Indrapuri area of ​​Delhi arrested

A 32 -year -old man has been arrested for an alleged involvement in a case registered under MCOCA in 2020 from Indrapuri area of ​​Delhi. An official gave this information on Saturday.

According to the official, he was injured in a serious road accident a decade ago, but he was still involved in crimes. He said that the accused has been identified as Suraj alias Michael, a resident of Madangir, South Delhi and was declared a fugitive in December 2024 regarding the case registered at Ambedkar Nagar Police Station in 2020.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Aditya Gautam said, “Suraj ‘is an active member of the gang and has been involved in about 30 cases of robbery, theft, motor vehicle theft and illegal weapons.”

Police said the accused has been arrested as part of a major operation against the gang led by P. Silva. Silva was operating a syndicate style gang involved in snatching, theft and armed robbery. He said that during the investigation several gang members were arrested, but Suraj was absconding.

Police said that the activities of the sun were monitored in Indrapuri area and were arrested during a target campaign on 19 June. During interrogation, Suraj told the police that he was active in the gang since 2013 and continued his involvement in the crime despite being a victim of a major road accident nearly a decade ago.

Police said that he had hid from Ambedkar Nagar to Indrapuri to avoid police custody and conducted his illegal activities. He said that investigation is going on in relation to this case.
