During the defeat in the first Test against England, the inexperience of the Indian bowlers was openly exposed but head coach Gautam Gambhir said that most of the team’s fast bowlers were seen defending. He said that many bowlers are still starting their career and need to be given some more time.
Any other bowler, except Jaspreet Bumrah, who took five wickets in England’s first innings, was not impressed and the hosts achieved a target of 371 runs on the fifth and last day of the match on Tuesday without any hassle. Famous Krishna, Mohammad Siraj and Shardul Thakur’s fast bowling trio line and length showed lack of continuity.
Gambhir told reporters after India’s five -wicket defeat that, we have to give them time. Earlier, there were four fast bowlers in our team who experienced more than 40 Test matches. It does not have such a huge impact in ODIs or T20 matches, but when he visits Australia, England or South Africa to play Test matches, experience matters a lot.
Gambhir further said that, his career is still the early days. If we start evaluating our bowlers after every Test match. So how will we be able to prepare a good bowling attack. Apart from Bumrah and Siraj, we do not have that much experience in fast bowling, but they have quality and that is why they are in this Indian team.

Regarding the bowling attack, Gambhir said that, one of the bowlers has played five Test matches in this bowling attack, one has played two matches, and one has not made his debut yet. We have to give them time. Earlier we used to have four Gedambaz with more than 40 Test matches experience. It does not have such a major impact in ODI or T20 matches, but when you go to Australia, England or South Africa for Tests, experience matters. Right now is the early days of this series.
