Ahmedabad Police Commissioner GS Malik expressed concern over the aircraft accident and said that the possibility of someone surviving the horrors of the accident seems to be extremely rare. He said that he was brought to the hospital for the treatment of the injured, but his condition was very serious and it is proving difficult to save them.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi described the plane crash in Ahmedabad as a heartbreaking and said that we are shocked and unhappy with this. He said that he is in touch with ministers and other officials working to help the affected people.

1. Air India Express Flight 1344 (2020)
Air India Express Flight 1344 crashed while trying to land at Kozhikode International Airport on August 7, 2020. The unfortunate Boeing 737, operated under the Vande Bharat Mission to bring back Indians trapped abroad due to the epidemic, slipped from the table-top runway, fell into a 110-foot trench, and broke into several pieces when collided. 2. Air India Express Flight 812 (2010)
Air India Express Flight 812, Boeing 737-800, flying from Dubai to Mangalore, fell victim to a tragic accident while trying to land at Mangalore International Airport on 22 May 2010. Despite repeatedly called for the Go-Around by the first officer, the aircraft overtook the table-top runway due to unstable approach. As a result, the plane slipped from the edge of the runway, falling down from a steep slope, and climbed into flames. Of the 166 people aboard the aircraft, 158 lost their lives in one of India’s deadliest aviation accidents.

3. Alliance Air Flight 7412 (2000)
Alliance Air Flight 7412, Boeing 737-2A8, crashed on the last view of Patna Airport on July 17, 2000. The aircraft crashed into a densely populated residential area, resulting in 60 people, out of which five were on the ground. The investigation revealed that the accident was the result of the pilot’s mistake. According to the details, the flight crew devised from standard operating procedures by keeping the engine inactive during an important phase of the flight and attempted the Go-Around after receiving the stall warning instead of demonstrating the correct stall recovery process.
4. Charkhi Dadri Accident (1996)
The air collision at Charkhi Dadri on November 12, 1996 is one of the deadliest aviation accidents in India. In this, 349 people lost their lives, when two aircraft – Saudi Arabia Airlines flight 763, Boeing 747 and Kazakhstan Airlines flight from Delhi and Flight 1907, Ilushin IL -76 – About 100 km from Delhi, collided with each other in the sky over the village of Charkhi Dadri. At that time both aircraft were under Delhi Air Traffic Control. According to the information, due to wrong communication, an aircraft descended down from its prescribed height, causing a deadly collision.
5. Indian Airlines flight 605 (1990)
On February 14, 1990, the Indian Airlines flight 605, an Airbus A320, crashed while trying to land in Bangalore, resulting in 92 out of 146 people aboard the aircraft. The aircraft landed down with the engine in open decent mode due to pilot’s mistake in choosing the right mode and delay on height alert. The aircraft hit a golf course and a embankment before the fire. Investigators did not find any mechanical problem and concluded that the accident was caused by the fault of the driver and poor awareness.
6. Indian Airlines flight 113 (1988)
Indian Airlines flight 113, flying from Mumbai to Ahmedabad, crashed while reaching Ahmedabad Airport on 737-200, October 19, 1988. Just 2.5 km before the aircraft runway, trees and a high-tension hit electrical wire, killing 133 out of 135 people on the aircraft, including all six crew members. The investigation revealed that the pilot had gone down from the minimum safe height without looking at the runway. The incorrect visibility information given by the airport officials made the situation worse.
7. Air India Flight 855 (1978)
Air India Flight 855 to Dubai on 1 January 1978, a Boeing 747, fell into the Arabian Sea shortly after flying from Mumbai, killing all 213 people aboard it. The accident occurred 101 seconds after the flight, when the captain incorrectly understood the aircraft guidelines due to a malfunction in the Attitude Director Indicator. The accident occurred at night above the sea, causing the crew members to face spatial disorientation.
8. Indian Airlines Flight 440 (1973)
On May 31, 1973, Indian Airlines flight 440 crashed near Palam Airport in Delhi. The Boeing 737-200 aircraft collided with high-tension wires just a few distance away from the runway due to bad weather. Out of 65 people aboard the aircraft, 48 died. The deceased included prominent Indian politician Mohan Kumaramangalam. The accident underlined the requirement of better weather radar at Indian airports.
