Air India has confirmed that 241 people were killed after the aircraft going to London flying from Ahmedabad airport on Thursday after crashing from Ahmedabad airport. The airline said in a statement issued late Thursday night, “We are saddened that 241 out of 242 people in the aircraft have been confirmed.” The statement said that the only living person is a British citizen of Indian origin and is being treated in a hospital. Aircraft of Air India going to London crashed in a medical college campus here a few minutes after flying from Ahmedabad Airport on Thursday afternoon. The aircraft were riding 242 people, including two pilots and 10 crew members.

There was a big loss due to crash in the hostel of aircraft
Apart from the people on the plane, many more were known in the accident. The wife of at least five MBBS students, a PG resident doctor and a super-specialist doctor at BJ Medical College died and 60 medical students were injured when Air India aircraft going to London in Ahmedabad on Thursday. Air India confirmed that 241 passengers aboard the aircraft were also killed in this deadly accident, in which only one survivor survived.

The development of affected people in the medical college campus was announced by the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA). FAIMA National Vice President Dr. Divyansh Singh said that the search operation at the accident site is still going on and many people are feared to be buried in the rubble. He said, “The bodies that have been found are completely burnt.” Singh said, “So far, at least five medical students of the BJ Medical College, Ahmedabad, a PG resident doctor and a super-specialist doctor’s wife have died and more than 60 medical students have been injured.
Air India confirmed 241 deaths
Air India has confirmed that its flight AI-171 flying from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick on June 12, 2025 was involved in a tragic accident. The aircraft, 12-year-old Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, departed from Ahmedabad at 1:38 pm. The aircraft had 230 passengers and 12 crew members, a total of 242 people. Passengers included 169 Indian citizens, 53 British citizens, seven Portuguese citizens and a Canadian citizen.
