Even though the Congress high command and the Gandhi family are leaving no opportunity for the Samajwadi Party to show its stance outside Uttar Pradesh, the Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh is not able to ignore the Congress even if it wants to. Call it the political compulsion of Samajwadi Party or the demand of time due to which despite being empty handed in Haryana, Samajwadi Party will maintain relations with Congress in UP. Out of 10 by-election seats in UP, SP will field its candidates on 8. He has left the remaining two seats for Congress. While Congress was demanding five seats, its demand for five seats was not even logical.
SP chief Akhilesh Yadav has decided to leave Ghaziabad and Khair assembly seats for Congress. Out of 10 by-election seats in UP, SP will field its candidates on 8. SP’s national spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary said that under the agreement for the by-election, Congress will field its candidate from Ghaziabad seat along with Khair assembly seat of Aligarh. By the way, this is also being considered as damage control of SP. The very next day after Congress’s crushing defeat in Haryana, SP had declared by-election candidates for six seats in UP. Congress leaders were angry with this. Congress’ UP in-charge Avinash Pandey had also refused to talk about seat sharing. Sources say that after the meeting of Rahul and Akhilesh during the swearing in of Omar Abdullah in Jammu and Kashmir recently, an agreement was reached on seat sharing. Although Akhilesh has said many times that the India alliance will continue in UP.

If we talk about candidates, Samajwadi Party has made Sumbul Rana, daughter of BSP national general secretary Munkad Ali, its candidate from Meerapur seat of Muzaffarnagar. After meeting with local leaders and public representatives last day, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav has decided the name of Sumbul. Sumbul is the daughter-in-law of former BSP MP Kadir Rana. Qadir Rana is currently in SP. The political relationship between Munkad and Qadir changed into a family relationship in 2010, when Qadir was also in BSP. Qadir had joined SP before the 2022 assembly elections. Meerapur seat was won by RLD in alliance with SP. However, before the Lok Sabha elections, RLD joined hands with BJP. By-election is being held here after Meerapur MLA Chandan Chauhan became MP from Bijnor. SP has so far declared candidates for seven by-election seats. In this, six tickets have gone to the families of the leaders only. To give the message of participation of minorities, Akhilesh has so far given three tickets to Muslims.
However, all the parties are working hard for the elections on nine assembly seats, while allegations and counter-allegations are increasing between SP and BJP regarding postponement of Milkipur by-election. Now BJP has accused SP of postponing the elections. When Milkipur elections were not declared, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav cornered the BJP. And he had taunted by posting on X that the one who has postponed the war has lost the war. At the same time, former Milkipur MLA Gorakhnath, while replying to this, said that it is not the BJP but the SP that is scared. This is the reason why he (Gorakhnath) appealed to the court to withdraw his petition. There was a hearing in the court on Thursday 17 October. When I reached there, I saw that SP MP Awadhesh Prasad had sent a dozen lawyers there. There was a debate on the fact that you cannot withdraw the petition like this. It is clear from this that Samajwadi Party is scared and does not want elections. Overall, if we talk about the relationship between Congress and SP, it does not seem that SP and Congress are going to part ways. For the time being, Akhilesh’s socialism will progress only with Congress.
