On Tuesday, 26 people were killed in a terrorist attack at Basaron Maidan near Pahalgam in South Kashmir, most of whom were tourists. It is one of the most deadly attacks in the valley after the 2019 Pulwama attack, killing 40 CRPF jawans. The bereaved families of the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack called upon the government to take decisive action against those responsible for this cruel act. The government has called an all -party meeting today.

Leaders of various parties participating in the all -party meeting in New Delhi kept a two -minute silence in honor of the victims of Pahalgam terror attack. On behalf of the government, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, External Affairs Minister S.K. Jaishankar and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Reisu were present. The meeting chaired by Singh was also present in the meeting chaired by JP Nadda, the Leader of the House in the Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha and Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha.

All parties condemned the Pahalgam terror attack. We said that efforts should be made to maintain peace in Jammu and Kashmir …” Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi said, “Everyone condemned the Pahalgam terrorist attack. The opposition has given full support to the government to take any action.”
Earlier, the opposition had demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should preside over the meeting. Modi was on a visit to Darbhanga in Bihar on Thursday, where he announced that Pahalgam’s killers and his supporters would be identified and punished. The day before the all -party meeting, the government announced several steps targeting Pakistan. The decision to call an all -party meeting was taken on Wednesday and Singh and Shah contacted various parties. There has been a tradition of calling an all-party meeting after an important incident related to national security, as during the Pulwama terrorist attack in 2019 or the Indo-China deadlock in 2020.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, expressing a pledge to all the terrorists involved in the Pahalgam terror attack and the conspiracy to “give a big punishment” than their imagination, said on Thursday that it is time for the terrorists to “mix the remaining land in the soil”. Addressing a public meeting here, Modi said that this attack has not only taken place on unarmed tourists, but the enemies of the country have dared to attack the soul of India. He also some things in his speech somewhere in English, in which he said, “Friends, today I want to tell the whole world from the land of Bihar that India will identify one terrorist and their masters, find out and punish them. We will chase him (of the attackers of Pahalgam) to the end of the earth. Terrorism will never break India’s morale. ”
