The Senate on Thursday approved Kash Patel’s name as director of the Federal Investigation Bureau of Investigation (FBI). In the voting in the Senate, Patel won by a minor margin and confirmed his claim towards the appointment to the top post of the country’s major federal law enforcement agency.
However, members of the Democratic Party suspect Patel’s merit and worry that he will work at the behest of President Donald Trump and work against the Republican President’s opponents.
Kash Patel’s name was approved as FBI Director by a margin of 51-49 in the Republican party’s majority Senate. “I cannot imagine the option worse than this,” said Dick Dabin from the Democratic Party.
Men’s Senator Susan Collins from the Republican party and Lisa Murkovski of Alaska, however, opposed it. “Patel wants to once again make the FBI accountable and return the historical reputation of the agency for law enforcement,” R-Ayova’s Senator and Senate Judicial Committee Chairman Chak Grassli said before confirming Patel’s name. ‘
He said, “He (Patel) wants to make the FBI a Congress (US Parliament), the President and most important to the people they serve, American taxpayers.”
Members of the Democratic Party had complained about the lack of Patel’s management experience compared to the previous FBI directors and mentioned his (Patel’s) previous inflammatory statements, which bring his decision in questions.
