Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday evening as part of his three-day visit to the valley. Soon after his arrival, he held a closed room with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs and major party officials to discuss regional and organizational matters. Shah’s Line of Control (LoC) and Border Security Force (BSF) are scheduled to visit the ‘Vinay’ outpost in Kathua on Monday. According to the official statement, during his visit, he will also assess the overall security situation in the region.

Will visit international border IB in Jammu and Kashmir

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit the International Border (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday and will recently meet the families of the policemen who were martyred in an encounter with terrorists. The Union Home Minister will visit an advance post on the India-Pakistan border and review the security situation and development initiatives during his visit. He will fly to Srinagar in the afternoon.

Security forces placed on high alert

Officials said that police and security forces have been kept on high alert in view of the visit of Home Minister Shah. Home Minister will visit BSF border outpost Vinay in Kathua and assess the ground situation there. Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Jammu on a three-day visit to Jammu on Sunday to review the security and development scenario of the Union Territory amid a confrontation between Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and CM Omar Abdullah. On the first day, Shah met party leaders in Jammu and prepared a strategy for the remaining part of the budget session of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly starting on Monday. LG and Union Minister of State PMO Dr. Jitendra Singh and BJP leaders welcomed him at the airport. This is Shah’s first visit to Jammu and Kashmir after Omar Abdullah-led government came to power in October last year.

Shah’s visit to Jammu and Kashmir complete program

On the second day of his journey, Shah will visit the Line of Control (LoC) and BSF’s ‘Vinay’ border outpost in Kathua today. During this visit, he will review the existing security system and assess the overall ground situation at around 10:30 am.

Later, Amit Shah will visit Raj Bhavan in Jammu, where he is scheduled to meet family members of Jammu and Kashmir police personnel who were martyred during duty. Around 2 pm, he will also hand over appointment letters to several persons selected for government jobs on compassionate grounds.

On the third day of his visit (8 April) Shah will start his day by attending a meeting at Raj Bhavan in Srinagar. During the session, they are expected to review the progress of various development projects running in the Union Territory.

Subsequently, the Union Home Minister will attend another high -level meeting at Raj Bhavan in Srinagar, where overall security situation in Jammu and Kashmir will be reviewed in depth.

According to sources, today’s high -level review meeting at Raj Bhavan will include discussion on the upcoming rail service between Katra and Srinagar. According to intelligence information, terrorist organizations can try to disrupt the route, Shah is expected to increase security system.

A large number of pilgrims are expected to come from this railway line for Shri Amarnath Yatra, which will also be a major issue of discussion. Security of both train service and pilgrimage will be considered as the top priority, in which a large -scale deployment of security personnel can be announced.

According to sources, important decisions are expected to be taken to strengthen the security of the Amarnath Yatra during this meeting.

Border wall project will be reviewed

Another important issue in the agenda is the construction of a security wall on the international border in Samba, Kathua and Jammu sectors. Sources said that land acquisition from local residents has delayed the project due to issues related to compensation, but Shah can take important decisions in coordination with BSF and administrative officials to resolve the deadlock and accelerate the construction process.

Shah participated in BJP Foundation Day celebrations

On 6 April, soon after reaching Jammu, Amit Shah visited Raj Bhavan and later visited the BJP headquarters in Trikuta Nagar. He also presided over a meeting with party MLAs and senior officials. The meeting was held on 6 April with BJP’s Foundation Day celebrations.
