Kalyan Banerjee said that we had great expectations from Congress that they would perform better. If he had done better, BJP and Narendra Modi would have been under pressure. There is an India alliance but the expected results could not be achieved. And there is a big failure on the part of Congress to achieve results. He said that today it is important that if we want to fight BJP then the India alliance should be strong. And to make it strong, a leader is needed. Who can be the leader now? This is the basic question. Congress has done this. All experiments have been done, but have been unsuccessful.
Referring to the Maharashtra elections where NCP and Congress performed poorly, Banerjee said Sharad Parad also could not do what was expected of him. Sharad Pawar’s NCP could win only 10 seats while Congress contested 101 seats and won 16 seats. He said other leaders also tried and failed. The remaining three people are – Stalin, Hemant Soren and Mamta Didi. Of these three, Mamata ji has the widest experience in parliamentary politics, she is a 7-time MP, Cabinet Minister, 3-time Chief Minister. His best record is to eliminate CPM from West Bengal. His nature is a fighter.

However, the ruling Mahayuti turned the situation around in just five months and retained the kingdom with a landslide victory. Banerjee criticized the Congress for its electoral defeat in Maharashtra. He stressed the need for “united and decisive” leadership to challenge Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP.
