New Delhi: On the occasion of International Yoga Day, the grand event of “Ashtanga Art Competition” was held on 21 June 2025 in Pandav Nagar, New Delhi under the joint aegis of Fineline Art Academy and Gallery and Sudarshan Foundation. The competition was based on the eight organs (Ashtanga) of yoga, which aims to give the participants an opportunity to express the importance of yoga through art. A total of 80 participants participated in this competition, including young children to young children over 18 years of age. The participants were divided into four groups.
In Group A (classes 1 to 4), Giansh Uppal finished first, Kamya finished second, while Divit, Sanvi Kaurav and Devansh Arora finished third. In Group B (class 5 to 9), Anveshika Mishra finished first, Visakha finished second and Suchitra Mahendran and Anushka Chauhan shared the third place. In Group C (class 10 to 12), Riya Samee got first place, Anish Sharma got second and Vaibhav Raj and Shivam Verma got third place. Nandita Mandal got the first prize in Group D (more than 18 years), Mansi Parihar and Sarla Kumari finished second, while Bhumi Ahuja, Anamika and Shivani Chauhan finished third.
At the conclusion of the competition, the winners were awarded medals and all participants participated in Participation Certificates. The award distribution ceremony was attended by Prime Academy founder Akanakshu Kashyap, Fineline Art Academy and Gallery founder and director Ashish Deshmukh, Sudarshan Foundation President United Deshmukh and Snehal Deshmukh, executive head of Fineline Art Academy.
On this occasion, Ashish Deshmukh, founder and director of Fineline Art Academy and Gallery, said that the competition was organized with the aim of showing the amazing coordination of yoga and art and it got much more response than expected. He credited this to the enthusiasm and creativity of the participants and the next year expressed a resolve to organize the program even more widely.
Executive head Snehal Deshmukh said that it was not just an art competition, but a medium for spreading positive energy and cultural consciousness in the society. The competition was completely based on free registration and was open to all age groups, giving the stage to artists from different backgrounds.
Local citizens, participants and parents of New Delhi appreciated the efforts of the organizing committee, saying that such competitions not only highlight talents, but also increase awareness about art, culture and yoga in society. The organizers expressed confidence to organize such creative and cultural undertakings on a wide level in future.
