Sheikh had raised the issue of extradition in Hasina in Bangladesh. But as the interim government of Bangladesh raises some controversy every day, even after this meeting, something was seen.

The BIMSTEC summit held in Thailand met Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and Bangladesh’s interim government chief Mohammad Yunus. In this meeting, PM Modi expressed deep concern about India’s safety of minorities in Bangladesh, especially Hindus. Apart from this, Sheikh had raised the issue of extradition in Hasina in Bangladesh. But as the interim government of Bangladesh raises some controversy every day, even after this meeting, something was seen. Yunus’s press secretary Shafiqurralam has created a new controversy by writing a post. Shefurayalam claimed in a Facebook post that in a meeting held in Bangkok, Mohammad Yunus had demanded the extradition of Sheikh Hasina from PM Modi and Modi’s reply was not negative. Shafiqurralam wrote that during the two -day meeting, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi showed great summons to Professor Mohammad Yunus.

He praised his work very much. One of the things he somewhere in the meeting was that despite having a good relationship with Sheikh Hasina of India, we saw his derogatory behavior towards you. But we respect and respect you. The response was not negative when Professor Yunus raised the issue of extradition of Sheikh Hasina. We are confident that one day Hasina will be extradited Dhaka and we will see all the biggest lawsuits. It was also clear that India wants to make a new way in Bangladesh’s relations. The Indian Prime Minister said several times during her sitting with Mohammad Yunus that India has relations with the people of Bangladesh, not with any party or individual.

As Professor Yunus has said many times in recent months that we want the best relations with India. But it should be based on fairness, equality and mutual respect. However, after this post, Indian sources have described it as baseless. It is said that such allegations question Bangladesh’s interim government’s seriousness and good intentions. New Delhi has not yet responded to the demand for extradition of Sheikh Hasina on the interim government of Bangladesh last year. Hasina took refuge in India on 5 August 2024 amidst major protests in Dhaka and has been living in Delhi since then.
