Professor Yunus said in a very dramatic manner that he would resign from the post of Chief Advisor to the Interim Government. It is important to note here that Yunus was appointed as the real head of Bangladesh in the last August after the students’ protests and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina were overthrown. The 84 -year -old Nobel Prize winner allegedly told his cabinet on Thursday that if political parties do not give him their full support, they want to leave the post. A source told AFP that they wanted to resign, but their cabinet members convinced him not to do so. Bangladeshi newspaper I was revealed in its report that Yunus said in a meeting with his advisors that if he cannot work properly then what is the meaning of being the main advisor?

National Citizens Party (NCP) convenor Nahid Islam met him at his official residence in the evening. After the meeting, Islam told BBC Bangla that we are hearing the news of Sir (Younus) resignation since this morning. So I went to meet Sir to discuss that issue. They said that they are thinking about this. They feel that the situation is such that they cannot work. Nahid allegedly urged Yunus not to take any hasty decision. Nahid told BBC Bangla that he should remain strong. They should ensure unity among all parties. I hope everyone will support them.
