The BCCI constitution says that any vacant post must be filled with a new appointment within 45 days. Quoting PTI, a state cricket association said that after the council meeting held on Thursday, a message was sent to all the state cricket associations regarding the special general meeting. A meeting will be held at the board’s headquarters on January 12. Let us tell you that along with Jai Shah, Ashish Shelar had left the post of Treasurer, who has got the post of Cabinet Minister in the recently formed new government.
According to the same report, the Board wrote in the message that since the posts of Secretary and Treasurer have become vacant, it is necessary to fill these posts through the election process in the Special General Meeting. The board has declared former election commissioner Achal Kumar Jyoti as the returning officer for these internal elections.
