Researchers at Cyber Safety Institute Cybenus say that the number of billions ‘log-in credentials’ has been compiled in online dataset after leaking, which has found “unprecedented access” to the accounts of users used every day.

According to a report published this week, the researchers of Cybernews have recently detected 30 datasets, each of which has a large number of login information. Overall, more than 16 billion log-in information has been leaked, including passwords from users of several popular platforms including Google, Facebook and Apple. This number is almost double that of the world’s population, indicating that more than one accounts of affected consumers would have been taken.

According to Cybens, it is also to be noted that the information about the log-in information is not from any one source. That is, it is not that information has been leaked by targeting any one company.

According to cybernews, it seems that the data was stolen at different times and then compiled and leaked in public. Cybernews said that many types of ‘Infosellers’ are most responsible for this. ‘Infoseller’ is a software that steals sensitive information by making a dent in the victim’s device or system.
