Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Saturday expressed gratitude to the people of the state for the excellent performance of the opposition ‘India’ alliance in the assembly elections and said that the party has succeeded in the test of democracy. The alliance of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Congress, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Liberation is headed for a decisive victory. It has won 31 seats and is ahead on 24 others. Soren defeated Gamaliel Hembram of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from Barhat seat by a margin of 39,791 votes.
