BJP also performed impressively in Rajasthan andby-election में Won five out of seven assembly constituencies. Congress had four of these seats. But it managed to win only Dausa, while the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) lost its only seat of Khinvsar, which is also considered its home turf, for the first time since its formation in 2008. (BAP) retained eighty-four.

However, the main opposition party Congress finished third in four constituencies. The BJP, whose seats dropped from 24 to 14 in the Lok Sabha elections, appears to have benefited from preventing rebellions, fighting a more spirited campaign than the Congress and being the ruling party. The Congress, which once looked set for a good show, lost momentum after the Haryana Assembly election results and could not recover. While the results will strengthen the image of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, veteran RLP leader Hanuman Beniwal, Congress’s Ola family and BJP’s cabinet minister Kirori Lal Meena have suffered a major setback in the by-elections.

In the elections, BJP had only one seat, Salumbar, which the party retained. While BAP’s Jitesh Katara maintained the lead for most rounds here, it was BJP’s Shanta Meena, wife of Amrit Lal, whose death necessitated the bypoll. He defeated Jitesh in the last phase and won the seat by about 1,300 votes. Apart from Salumber, BJP won Jhunjhunu, Ramgarh, Deoli-Uniara and Khinvsar seats. In a major blow to the Congress and the RLP, the BJP won Jhunjhunu, which was the stronghold of the Ola family, and Khinvsar, which was considered an RLP stronghold. BJP last won in Jhunjhunu 21 years ago. After that, the seat was won by Brijendra Ola of Congress in 2008, 2013, 2018 and 2023, necessitating by-elections before his Lok Sabha election. In the by-election, Congress fielded Ola’s son Amit, who lost to BJP’s Rajendra Bhambu by a decisive 43,000 votes.
RLP lost Khinvsar for the first time since its formation in 2008. After fielding party chief Hanuman Beniwal and his brother Narayan Beniwal in the last elections, the party fielded Hanuman’s wife Kanika, who lost to BJP’s Revanth Ram by around 14,000 votes. In Deoli-Uniara, BJP’s Rajendra Gurjar won by over 41,000 votes, while Congress’s rebel Naresh Meena, in the news for slapping SDM Amit Chaudhary on polling day, finished second and Congress’s KC Meena stood third.
