Chennai Super Kings head coach Stephen Fleming, after buying Ravichandran Ashwin in the mega auction here, said that his team can use the experienced offspinner in many ways in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. This is the homecoming of this star spinner in the five-time champion team. Ashwin was bought by Chennai Super Kings for Rs 9.75 crore on the opening day of the auction. CSK wants to add those players to its team whose skills can be used on the Chepauk pitch. Ashwin, who made his debut for CSK in 2009, was part of the team’s title campaigns in 2010 and 2011.
He has also played for Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings), Rising Pune Supergiants, Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals. Fleming said in the press conference, “This is like a homecoming for Ashwin.” But he is a world class bowler. As Venky (Mysore) said, their concern is not about price. You see how someone fits into the team and Ashwin has an emotional attachment with Chennai so he will fit in well. ”He said, ”He is an excellent spinner and his figures are excellent.
