The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) called the top diplomats of the US, Britain, European Union, Italy, Qatar, Japan, China, Russia, Germany, France to give information about the Pahalgam terror attack. The Foreign Secretary informed these diplomats during the 30 -minute meeting. Earlier in the day, Islamabad involved the closure of the Wagah border, suspending all SAARC visas for Indian citizens and closing their airspace for Indian airlines.

After the recent Pahalgam attack, in which 26 people lost their lives, India suspended visa services for Pakistani citizens with immediate effect. The Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement that in the order of the decisions taken by the Cabinet Committee on security in view of the Pahalgam terror attack, the Government of India has decided to suspend visa services for Pakistani citizens with immediate effect. The statement said that all the current valid visas issued by India to Pakistani citizens have been canceled from 27 April 2025. Medical visas issued to Pakistani citizens will be valid only by 29 April 2025.

In addition, the minister said that at present all Pakistani citizens present in India should leave India before the end of their visa, as has now been revised.
