Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi on Tuesday and discussed important issues related to the state. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met Union Minister for Energy and Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal on Monday and requested special assistance and development of hydroelectric projects in the state under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban). A release said that the Chief Minister also requested the Union Minister to automate power lines in the Rishikesh-Haridwar region and for the viability inter-fund of Rs 4,000 crore for the construction of hydroelectric projects in Kumaon and Upper Yamuna regions of the state.

The Chief Minister also demanded a power gap fund of Rs 3800 crore for the development of pump storage projects in remote and inaccessible terrain of the state, so that energy production capacity in these areas can be increased and local development can also be promoted. Apart from this, the Chief Minister requested to approve the DPR of two important projects of Pitkul under the Power System Development Fund and to approve both these projects with 100 percent grant. The cost of these projects is Rs 1007.82 crore. The Chief Minister attracted the attention of the Union Minister to the practical challenges of the current guidelines regarding the construction of residential units for the weak income group under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban).
