Former India spinner Dilip Doshi passed away. Born in 1947, Doshi breathed his last in London at the age of 77. His death raged a wave of mourning in the cricket world. Doshi was also very popular as a successful Hindi commentator after a cricket career.

Doshi, who took 898 wickets in first class cricket, took five wickets in 238 first class matches 43 times. He took 10 wickets in a match 6 times. On his demise, Saurashtra Cricket Association said that he has left behind the rich heritage of skill, commitment, excellent. Recently, Doshi was also honored by the BCCI at a function. He also joined the final of the World Test Championship played at Lord’s Cricket Ground earlier this month.

According to reports, left -arm spin bowler Doshi died due to heart related diseases. According to ESPNcricinfo, Doshi had been living in London for the past several years. He is survived by his wife Kalindi, son Nayan and daughter Visakha. Son Nay has played County Cricket-Sare of England and Cricket from Saurashtra in Maharashtra.
