According to the state government spokesperson and Health Minister Rishikesh Patel, employees who get benefits under the Seventh Pay Commission will get a 2 percent increase in DA. Under the Sixth Pay Commission, employees will get an increase of 6 percent in DA.

The Gujarat government has approved a 2 percent increase in dearness allowance (DA) for its employees and retired employees. The decision was taken during the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. According to the state government spokesperson and Health Minister Rishikesh Patel, employees who get benefits under the Seventh Pay Commission will get a 2 percent increase in DA. Under the Sixth Pay Commission, employees will get an increase of 6 percent in DA.

The arrears of DA for the period from January 1, 2025 to March 2025 will be distributed in the same installment with a salary of April 2025. This increase will benefit about 4.78 lakh serving employees from the state government, panchayats and other areas as well as about 4.81 lakh retired employees. After this step, Rs 235 crore will be paid as arrears and an additional annual expenditure of Rs 946 crore will be on salary, allowances and pension. The Finance Department has also been instructed to issue necessary orders to implement the decision of the state government.
