In Nand Nagri area of Delhi, a person has been arrested for shooting an e-rickshaw driver. The incident occurred when the e-rickshaw driver’s car accidentally hit the car’s car. The police gave this information on Friday.
A senior police official said that on the morning of June 23, Vinay (30) was going back to his home from Amit Vihar in his e-rickshaw. He said that his e-rickshaw allegedly collided with a black car while turning near Gagan Cinema.
The official said that sports utility vehicle (SUV) driver Sameer Sharma (46) allegedly fired pistol and fired on Vinay. He said that the accused escaped from the spot after firing.
Police said the police control room (PCR) received information regarding the injuries of a person in the shootout from GTB Hospital. Police said that the victim is being treated in GTB Hospital itself.
Police said that on the basis of Vinay’s statement, a case has been registered at Nand Nagri police station under Section 109 (1) (attempt to murder) and Section 3 (5) (Joint Accountability) and Section 27 of Arms Act. He said that after this Sameer was arrested and during interrogation, he told the police about his female partner.
The police have also caught his female partner. Police said the pistol and black SUV used in crime have been seized. The official said the investigation is on to find out the purpose of the firing and the accused to find out the possible criminal background.
