Delhi Assembly Speaker | Vijendra Gupta is likely to take oath as Speaker of Delhi Legislative Assembly, Mohan Singh Bisht may be Deputy Speaker

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Vijendra Gupta will be appointed as the Speaker of the Delhi Assembly in the New Delhi government, while Mohan Singh Bisht is likely to play the role of Deputy Speaker, sources said. BJP MLA Vijendra Gupta, who won from Rohini constituency, received 70,365 votes in the Delhi Assembly elections, while Mohan Singh Bisht won the Muslim -dominated Mustafabad.

Before the swearing -in ceremony of the Delhi Cabinet, Gupta said, “I am grateful to the party for giving me the responsibility of the Speaker of the Delhi Legislative Assembly. I will fulfill my responsibility … I hope that we will have a healthy discussion in the House.”
Chief Ministerial candidate Rekha Gupta and his Council of Ministers will take oath at Ramlila Maidan in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday afternoon, which symbolizes BJP’s return to Delhi after 26 years. At the BJP Legislature Party meeting on Wednesday, 50 -year -old Gupta was elected the leader of the House in the newly formed eighth Delhi Assembly.
According to the government notification, in addition to Gupta, six newly elected MLA – Pravesh Verma who defeated AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal from New Delhi seat, Ashish Sood, Pankaj Singh, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Kapil Mishra and Ravinder Indraj – oath as members of the new Council of Ministers Will take

Party sources claimed that the first meeting of the new Council of Ministers headed by Gupta is likely to be held in the Delhi Secretariat at around 3 pm and the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana can be implemented, under which eligible women will get a monthly payment of Rs 2,500 and Ayushman Bharat Health Insurance Scheme can also be implemented.
The BJP ended a decade -long rule of AAP led by Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi by winning 48 out of 70 seats in the assembly elections held on February 5. The BJP last gained power in Delhi in 1993-98.
