A 38-year-old man was stabbed to death while trying to stop a snatcher from snatching his friend’s phone in New Delhi’s Karol Bagh area. Police gave this information on Thursday.

Police said that this incident happened on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday when Mukesh Jha was returning home after having dinner from a restaurant with his girlfriend.

“We received information about an incident of stabbing and phone snatching near Naiwala Chowk in Karol Bagh area on Thursday morning,” a senior police officer said.

The officer said that immediately after receiving the information, a police team was sent to the spot and during interrogation it was found that they were returning from a restaurant in Beedanpura.

“When they reached near Satbhravaan School, three people standing nearby tried to snatch the mobile phone from his girlfriend’s hand, but Mukesh resisted,” the officer said. There was a scuffle between them on this. One of the accused stabbed Mukesh and all three ran away after snatching the mobile phone.
