The controversy over the disappearance of samosas made for Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Sukhu has become a topic of discussion. The incident, which is now under CID investigation, has attracted the attention of not only politicians and media, but now also tourists to the northern state. While politicians are busy doing politics over this incident, samosas have made their place at the center in Shimla. Demand for samosas has also increased in Shimla. Samosas specially prepared by Radisson Hotel, from where they were initially ordered for the CM.
Samosa creator and chef Rajiv Bhardwaj of Radisson, Shimla told ANI that the hotel was in compliance with the order. He said that we had served 21 samosas to the CID branch of Himachal Pradesh Police which were to be served to the Chief Minister. This pack was given on their order which had only three packs. One of our three plate samosas is available for Rs 350 plus tax. Amid the political drama, the hotel’s signature samosa filled with khoya paneer and potatoes has become a sensation not only in Shimla, but across the country, which took Chef Bhardwaj by surprise.

Bhardwaj said that I am a chef and have been working as a chef for the last 18 years and am in the hotel industry. This time our samosa has got so much popularity, it has got so many headlines. He said, “We did not get so much popularity even when I made the Guinness Book of World Records in 2019 by making Khichdi in Tata Paani. According to ANI, the popularity of samosas has increased among Indian and international tourists visiting Shimla.
People are discussing the matter while enjoying samosas even at the intersection. Samosas are also being used in protests against the CM. Bhardwaj said that the demand for this samosa has increased significantly among the foreign and Indian tourists visiting Hotel Radisson Shimla and they are liking it. He said that it was a very good experience for me. Samosa is a very good experience. Suzanne Hopkins, a visitor from Birmingham, UK, said, “I have never had a samosa like this before. Despite frequenting UK stalls for samosas, she was attracted by the local buzz about the dish at the Radisson.” When I came to know this. Samosas are all the rage here, I ordered this samosa and enjoyed it. I am recommending it to everyone.
