Junior doctors, whose nine representatives have been on a fast unto death for more than 100 hours, protesting against the alleged rape and murder of a trainee female doctor at RG Kar Hospital, along with senior officials of the West Bengal government. The talks held on Wednesday night were termed as the most disappointing talks till date.
After the meeting that lasted for over two hours, the protesting doctors alleged that they did not get anything concrete from the state government except verbal assurances as the government responded to their demands of improving the health system and increasing security arrangements inside the medical college campuses. Refused to issue written instructions.
About 20 representatives of medical colleges from across the state attended the meeting held at Swasthya Bhavan, the headquarters of the state health department in Salt Lake.
