Actually, five rounds of counting of votes have been completed in DUSU Elections 2024. Out of about 19-20 rounds, counting of six rounds has been completed so far. NSUI has maintained its lead, this time 21 candidates are contesting, out of which 9 are women. NSUI candidates are leading in the race for the three posts of President, Secretary and Joint Secretary. Whereas, ABVP is ahead in the race for the post of Vice President.
Let us tell you that, out of total 1,45,893 voters from 52 colleges, about 51,300 students have voted in DUSU Elections 2024. At the same time, ABVP has been ruling DUSU for the last 10 years. However, this year a tough contest is being seen between ABVP and NSUI. It is noteworthy that last year ABVP had won 3 posts including that of President. But now, NSUI won the Vice President seat. Meanwhile, Delhi University has received the signed affidavits of all the candidates contesting the student union elections. In this affidavit, after the results are declared, candidates have been prevented from playing drums or loudspeakers, bursting crackers and not distributing pamphlets. The affidavit states that after victory, the candidates will not be able to hold road shows or rallies. Candidates who do not follow these conditions may have their victory canceled or may even be removed from the post.
