Rakesh Tikait, the national spokesperson of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU), accused private power companies in Agra and accused the farmers of looting the farmers. Addressing a rally, he urged the government to forgive these bills and warned of protests if the demand was not met. Tikait also expressed concern over the increase in cold storage fares for potatoes and said that it is burning the farmers.

Tikait said that the law that guarantees the minimum support price (MSP) will benefit potato and mustard farmers in Agra and surrounding areas. He questioned the government’s land acquisition policy. He said that the officers are acquiring land without increasing the circle rate, which he considers inappropriate. Apart from this, Rakesh Tikait called for a nationwide movement demanding a legal guarantee of the minimum support price (MSP). Addressing the gathering at the municipal ground, Tikait urged the farmers not to sell their land and prepare at least one member of the family for agitation.
He said, “If every family dedicates ten days for agitation and for farming for twenty days, then their land will be secured.” Tikait claimed that farmers in Bihar are not getting a fair price for their crop. He said, “Mecca used for popcorn across the country is born in Bihar, but the farmers there get only Rs 12-14 per kg. This is the reason that many farmers have left Bihar and escaped for wages. ”He clearly said that farmers will remain organized, only then farmers will be safe.

He said that it is responsible to eliminate the mandis in Bihar, and warned that a new policy can gradually stop across the country. Tikait alleged, “He plans to lease the market of Mandi for 99 years as plots of 500 to 1,000 square meters.” If this happens, the mandis will end in 10-15 years. ”He also called upon the farmers to protest against the indifferent attitude officials. He said, “If an officer does not solve your concerns, then give a 72 -hour sit -in at his office.
