Farooq Abdullah, president of the ruling National Conference in Jammu and Kashmir, has given a surprising statement on the terrorist incidents. Regarding the terrorist incidents in Budgam, Bandipora and Srinagar, Abdullah has said that this smells of conspiracy to him. He asked whether there is any agency behind these attacks which is trying to destabilize the Omar Abdullah government. This statement of experienced politician Farooq reflects false innocence. A person who spent his entire life in political intrigue and never openly condemned terrorists and Pakistan due to the fear of vote bank, is raising the question that terrorist incidents should be investigated whether any agencies are involved in it.
87-year-old Farooq Abdullah has been in politics for more than 50 years. He has been a minister at the Center and Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir thrice. Such childish statements cannot be expected from such an experienced politician. Is Abdullah so innocent that he does not know who is carrying out these attacks and why? Earlier, the same Abdullah had accused Pakistan of carrying out the attacks and had even said that Jammu and Kashmir would never become a part of Pakistan. Then suddenly what happened that senior Abdullah now started suspecting someone other than Pakistan in these attacks.

In fact, when Farooq Abdullah assumed power, the father and son were well aware that stopping terrorist incidents in Jammu and Kashmir is not an easy task. Before coming to power, he left no stone unturned in blaming the Center for both such incidents. However, the Center and Jammu and Kashmir administration have put all their efforts to stop them. Apart from civilians, hundreds of security personnel have been martyred in this effort. Then Abdullah, father and son have not raised this question. On the contrary, these terrorist incidents are being seen from the perspective of destabilizing the National Conference government. It is noteworthy that these same father and son had created a huge uproar after the removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir. Even in the election manifesto of the National Conference in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections held last month, a promise was made to bring it back.
Farooq Abdullah has given Pakistan the opportunity to interfere in India’s affairs. Pakistan has also been demanding the restoration of Article 370. The tone of Abdullah and Pakistan is the same. By repeating this demand, Abdullah has in a way supported Pakistan’s demand. Whereas it is well known that after the removal of this section, incidents of stone pelting have stopped in Jammu and Kashmir. There has been tremendous progress in development works. Abdullah, father and son did not speak even once on this. The reason is clear, at that time there was central rule in Jammu and Kashmir. Now that his party is in power, he sees a conspiracy behind terrorist incidents.
Abdullah said that instead of killing terrorists, they should be caught alive so that it can be found out for whom they work. Such childish statements can never be expected from Farooq Abdullah. Farooq should also tell who will capture the terrorists armed with deadly weapons alive. The kind of statement that has come from Farooq Abdullah will actually affect the morale of the security forces and agencies somewhere. Farooq has raised the needle of suspicion on them. Now the people of Jammu and Kashmir are raising the same questions on the Farooq Abdullah government for these terrorist incidents, which they have been raising on the central government in the past. In such a situation, their problems have increased. It is well known that Pakistan’s infamous intelligence agency ISI is carrying out these attacks. Farooq Abdullah and his Chief Minister son also know this very well. ISI has a long history of nurturing terrorists. There are terrorist camps in Pakistan across the border in Jammu and Kashmir. The air strike by India is a witness to this. Pakistan’s intelligence agency not only recruits and trains terrorists, but also provides them weapons and money.
Farooq Abdullah has always been interfering in India’s foreign policy matters. Abdullah has said many times that India should talk to Pakistan on the issue of terrorism and Jammu and Kashmir. Such statements have only boosted Pakistan’s morale, despite knowing that despite several talks with India, Pakistan is not desisting from sending terrorists from across the border. The present Modi government has completely isolated Pakistan by stopping talks. Pakistan had also initiated this.
The result is that Pakistan is almost on the verge of starvation. Pakistan has tried many times to restore relations with India in a covert manner, but every reply it has received from India is that terrorism and trade cannot go together.
This shock of Farooq Abdullah may have other implications also. Abdullah has many times demanded to give full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. After getting the status of full state, Omar Abdullah government will get the command of police administration. Apart from this, you will get other rights also. The question is that even with the help of police and army in Jammu and Kashmir, terrorists are not able to completely control the terrorists, then how will the Farooq government be able to maintain law and order. On the contrary, there is a greater possibility that after getting police powers, due to recommendations and government intervention, incidents of discrimination will occur. Even action will not be taken against the supporters of terrorists. In such a situation, it is necessary that before giving full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, the Central Government should ensure that doing so does not prove to be a profitable deal for terrorists.
