Team India suffered a 440 -volt shock when Dhakad fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah Champions Trophy dropped from 2025. He is suffering from lower back injury. Bumrah was injured during the fifth and last Test on Australia tour. There was a possibility that Bumrah could fit till the Champions Trophy starting on February 19. But the BCCI recently removed Jaspreet Bumrah’s name from the updated Indian squad. Pesar Harshit Rana has come as his replacement. Now Gautam Gambhir has broken the silence when Gautam Gambhir is out of Bumrah’s Champions Trophy.
Gambhir said after the third ODI in Amhadabad that, it is obvious that he is out. But I cannot give you all the details because it depends on the medical team for how long he will stay out. The medical team in NCA takes the decision. The coach said that, obviously we wanted him in the team. We know what he can do. He is a world class player. However, some things are not in your hand. This is an opportunity for young players, such as Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh. Sometimes these are such opportunities that you are looking for. Harshit has done well in the entire series. He has taken some important wickets. We all know what Arshdeep can do. Yes, the lack of Bumrah will always miss. But it is always good for an experienced player like Shami to come back.
Let us know that Harshit took a total of 6 wickets in three matches in the India Verses England ODI series. Arshdeep got a chance to play a match. He hunted two in Ahmedabad. Veteran Pesar Shami took two wickets in two matches. He was not part of the Indian playing in the last ODI. India on Tuesday made two changes in the 15 -member squad for their Champions Trophy. Apart from Harshit, the mystery spinner Varun Chakraborty has entered the squad. He was replaced by batsman Yashasvi Jaiswala.
