The five -match T20 series being played between India and England is over. India managed to win this series 4–1. In the fifth T20 match, Team India performed brilliantly and defeated England by a big margin. After this victory, Team India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir has finally broken his silence on the Constitution Substitute controversy. In the fourth T20 match played between India and England, Harshit Rana was replaced as a Contingent Substitute in place of Shivam Dubey. Several cricket critics including former England captain Kevin Pietersen had questioned the decision.
Let me tell you that in the fourth T20 between India and England, Indian all -rounder Shivam Dubey had a ball on the head, due to which he could not play further in the match. According to the rules, India included Harshit Rana in the team in his place. England team and Kevan Peterson expressed displeasure over the decision and described it as India’s strategic move.
Kevin Pietersen believed that India took advantage of the rules of the Contingon Substitute. He said that instead of Rana in place of Dubey, it was not like to like a replacement, but it gave India an additional option in bowling.
