Jharkhand is once again ready for assembly elections. A close contest is being witnessed in Barhet assembly seat of the state. Let us tell you that on this seat, JMM leader and state CM Hemant Soren will compete with BJP candidate Gamaliel Hembrez in search of a hat-trick. Hemant Soren had won this seat in the 2014 and 2019 assembly elections. This seat was earlier held by JMM’s Hemant Soren. However, this time Bharatiya Janata Party and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha have entered as the main parties in this area. This seat is the stronghold of JMM.

The main contest on Jharkhand’s Barhet assembly seat is between BJP’s Gamliyal Hembrej, JMM leader Hemant Soren, Nationalist Congress’s Dinesh Soren and Ambedkarite Party of India’s Rani Hansda. Congress, JMM, RJD and CPI-LL are jointly contesting the elections in the state under INDIA. Whereas Bharatiya Janata Party, Janata Dal, ASJU and Lok Janshakti Party led by Chirag Paswan are contesting the elections together.

Voting is to be held on Barhet seat in the second phase of Jharkhand assembly elections i.e. on 20th November. Voting is to be held in the state in two phases on November 13 and November 20. Out of which the first phase of voting has been completed and the second phase of voting is to be held on November 20. The voting will be held on 23 November 2024.
