Holi comes only once a year, Yogi Adityanath came out openly in support of Anuj Chaudhary

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday supported Sambhal district police officer Anuj Chaudhary. In fact, Chaudhary had recently advised Muslims to offer prayers (Friday) on Holi at home. The CM of Uttar Pradesh, while supporting the statement of the police officer, said that what the Arjuna Award winner said is correct.
What did Yogi Adityanath say?
Addressing the India Today Conclave, Adityanath said that the police officer might have spoken as a wrestler. Chaudhary is a former wrestler and the Arjuna Award winner. Adityanath also thanked the religious leaders for deciding to perform the prayers of Friday after 2 pm.
Adityanath said, ‘We should respect each other’s feelings during festivals. Namaz is offered every Friday, but Holi comes only once a year. The prayers can be delayed, and if someone wants to offer prayers on time (normal time at 1.30 pm), he can do so by staying in his house. It is not mandatory to go to the mosque for namaz.

What statement did Anuj Chaudhary give?
On March 6, a peace committee meeting was held at Sambhal Kotwali police station, which was aimed at ensuring communal harmony as Holi was falling on 14 March this year with the prayers of Jumme during Ramadan.
During the meeting, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Anuj Chaudhary said, ‘The festival of colors comes only once a year, while Jumme (for Namaz) comes 52 times a year, and therefore I advise my Muslim brothers to think that those who think that they will have a colorful work while going for prayers, they should stay inside the house until the Holi is over.

What did CM Yogi say on deaths in Mahakumbh stampede?
On this occasion, Adityanath dismissed the allegations of hiding the deaths in the Mahakumbh stampede. He said that the priority of the government was to help the injured and to ensure that people taking holy bath on Mauni Amavasya could easily get out of the Sangam area. He said that when the administration secured the injured and ensured that the crowd had reduced, they informed the media about it. He also said that Mahakumbh is a good example of unity and is a lesson for those who questioned the event.
