Apart from Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and top officials of the Center and Jammu and Kashmir were present during the review of the status of implementation of new criminal laws in Jammu and Kashmir in North Block.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah today reviewed the status of implementation of new criminal laws in the Union Territory in the presence of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. The special thing about today’s meeting is that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was invited. Let us tell you that after the previous state is divided into two union territories Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, now the law and order is directly controlled by the Central Government. Recently, when Union Home Minister Amit Shah had held two consecutive meetings to review the security situation of Jammu and Kashmir, the Chief Minister was not called in it. In this regard, the Chief Minister’s advisor told the media that it is wrong to not call the head of the elected government in law and order meetings. Probably only after the Chief Minister’s displeasure, he was called to this meeting.

Apart from Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and top officials of the Center and Jammu and Kashmir were present during the review of the status of implementation of new criminal laws in Jammu and Kashmir in North Block. Let us tell you that the Indian Code of Justice, Indian Civil Protection Code and the Indian Evidence Act have replaced the Indian Penal Code of the colonial era, the Criminal Procedure Code and the Indian Evidence Act of 1872. These new laws came into force from July 1 last year. Amit Shah has already reviewed the implementation of new laws in many states including Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.
