Home Minister Amit Shah held a meeting with senior Delhi Police officials on Friday to review the law and order situation in the national capital. The officers provided this information.
Shah underlined the importance of making every resident of Delhi feel safe and stressed that it is the individual responsibility of every police officer to ensure public confidence in the security of Delhi.
According to officials, the Home Minister held a meeting to review the law and order situation in Delhi. The meeting was attended by the Home Secretary, Intelligence Bureau Director, Delhi Police Commissioner and other senior officials.
The Home Minister stressed that the safety of children, women and senior citizens should remain the top priority for Delhi Police. He stressed on the police force to work decisively to ensure a safe and secure environment in the national capital, reflecting the government’s commitment towards public safety.
During the meeting, the Home Minister stressed the government’s “zero tolerance” policy towards crime and said any lapse in maintaining law and order in the national capital will not be tolerated, the official said.
Shah directed the police to prepare special action plans and launch focused operations keeping in mind the key areas related to public safety. He said that the police force should work to create a sense of security among the citizens as well as instill fear among the criminals.
