US President Donald Trump said on Thursday that India and Pakistan had long enmity over Kashmir and will bring the two countries together. Trump claimed that he could “solve any problem.”
At a ceremony organized to sign a bill in the official residence of the US President and office ‘White House’, Trump said in response to a question, “We are going to bring them together (India and Pakistan) together. I told him-India and Pakistan told him that there is a long hostility between the two countries about Kashmir and I can solve anything.”
India has been continuously saying that Kashmir is a bilateral issue and there is no scope for any third party mediation. Trump said that he asked the two countries when this enmity has been going on, “he said” from “2,000 years”, to which he (Trump) smiled and replied, “Oh, this is a big problem.”
The US President reiterated his claim to stop military conflicts between India and Pakistan “through phone conversation and trade”. He said, “I stopped the war between India and Pakistan, I stopped it through business. I don’t think I have ever seen any news about it, but it was very, great. They were preparing.”
Trump said it was in Pakistan to attack and eventually he would turn to nuclear weapons. He said, “But I stopped it. I talked to both of them, I respect the leaders of both countries very much. I know them and I talked to them. I talked about business.”
Trump said that he told the leaders of India and Pakistan that “if you get entangled in war, fake nuclear weapons on each other”, you will not be able to trade with America.
The US President said, “I said this to both of them (leaders of India and Pakistan). He understood my point well and (struggle) stopped. I stopped that war through phone conversation and business.
