Lions Dardi Assistant Trust and Mrs. Manoramaben Kidney Foundation, Lions Club of Digvizyanagar located in Ahmedabad, is doing social work through many of its service projects, which are benefiting the needy people of the society. In front of the Civil Hospital in Asarwa, Ahmedabad, “Digvijay Lions Dardi Assistant Trust” and “Mrs. Manoramaben.C. Lions Digvijay Kidney Foundation” serves to provide financial assistance for medical treatment to the financially weak patients coming to the Civil Hospital and provide the facilities of housing and food to the families that come with them at concessional rates, as well as to make the needy women at the end of every month. On average, 12 sewing machines are also distributed.
Recently, on 21.5.2025, 12 sewing machines, three wheelchairs and a tricycle were distributed to the needy women to make them employable, while 7.7.25 were given 13 sewing machines and four wheelchairs, thus a total of 25 sewing machines in two months of May and June were given by the Chief Minister of Sham Services Foundation and the chief of the program. It was given in which former Governor of Lions Club Mahendrabhai Shah, Governor Hirenbhai Mewada and L.K. Vaghela, Trust President Dr. Bipinbhai Shah, Managing Trustee Chimanbhai Shah, Trustee Deepakbhai Rawal, Chandrakantbhai Dalal and Secretary Bakulbhai Pandya were included. On this occasion, Maghbhai Patel gave a check to this trust by giving 37 sewing machines every year and gave a check to the managing trustee of the institution to Chimnabhai Shah, who was welcomed with all the Lions Club members and the people.
Similarly, Azadnagar, located in New Fatehwadi area of Sarakhej, Ahmedabad, is a “Madhuram Shikshan Sanskar Shiksha Kendra” which works selflessly to help students from economically and socially backward classes. In this area, extremely poor, widow and abandoned women live in a rented house with their children and they have no other employment option. In order to provide employment to women from economically weaker families in the region, Maghbhai Patel at his expense to distribute four sewing machines free of cost to some women of the region, which has helped these women to become self-sufficient.
It is necessary to mention here that Maghbhai Patel comes in this field many times and is continuously serving for the development of society by doing education work for children and employment oriented for women and men at his expense. If the competent and educated class of the society joins this Bhagirath service, then the rejuvenation of this area will definitely be done in which there is no doubt.
Four sewing machines have been given to women who have responsibility for the maintenance of the family. Some women live with two children apart from their husbands. It is necessary to mention here that Maghbhai Patel is making a significant contribution in the development of the society by running all the schemes run by the government at the age of 73 years. Till date, he has helped in providing employment to ordinary artisans like sewing machines, tricycles, wheel chairs, tools, masters, carpets, blacksmiths and providing employment to them. She has played an important role in making countless women self -sufficient by providing microfinance for beauty parlor kit and cottage industries for beauty parlor. Three to four employment-oriented projects are run by Maganbhai Patel every month, from which people take inspiration, then the economically backward classes will become employment oriented and women will be able to handle household. If the social organizations of the society and the country are associated with this task, then surely we will be able to make the ideology of Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi meaningful.
Madhubhai Shukla (age 92) of Madhuram Shikshan Sanskar Kendra, who lives in Sarkhej area of Ahmedabad, still gives free tuition to about 50 poor children, whose entire expenses are raised by Magnabhai Patel. The children coming here for tuition are given education material, school bag, notebook etc. every year with the financial support of Maghbhai Patel. With the aim of educating the children, they surveyed the area and women who needed sewing machines were given sewing machines with the financial support of Maghbhai Patel. Here they were also given the necessary raw materials along with sewing machines.
Lions Dardi Assistant Trust, Ahmedabad has been doing service work for the last 31 years. Every year a service work of Rs 30,000,000 is done from this trust. Under this, 334 sewing machines have been given to women so far and with the help of Lions Club Governor Hirenbhai Mewada and donors, the target is to provide 400 sewing machines in the coming time. Along with this, sewing classes have also been started by the trust to help the widow and abandoned women stand on their feet, in which they are taught the task of sewing and after completion of training they are made employment oriented by giving free sewing machines as charity. So far, about 50 women have received sewing machines after training in sewing work and are getting employment. This trust provides free medicines worth 1.5 to 2 lakh rupees every month to the patients coming for treatment in the civil hospital. This trust has also donated a digital X-ray machine of Rs 37 lakh to the Civil Hospital as well as a speech and hearing machine of Rs 5 lakh to the Paraplayzia ward for the treatment of deaf and deaf patients.
This trust helps in treating and operation of patients in every department of Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad, such as kidney, cardiology, cancer, gynecology, paraplezia etc. Apart from this, it helps to provide medicines to patients, patients who do not have money, provide treatment at home and reach the dead bodies to the morgue. Trust has helped the sisters who have lost their spouses or relatives in the coronal period, providing them a sewing machine and made them worth employment.
On this occasion, Maghbhai Patel said in his speech that as India is becoming a major global economic power, the need for women’s participation in the development story of the nation is becoming more important day by day. It is no wonder that the women of India are strengthening themselves as before and have their faith in the Honorable Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi Sahab and his team. If 50 percent of our population is of women who are locked in the house, then we cannot achieve success. It is the duty of the country’s social institutions to make them entrepreneurs through financial assistance, skills and training. From women sarpanches to legislators, the role of women in public service is being promoted as before. The results of social welfare programs increase manifold with the participation of women because they have the extraordinary ability to take care of not only their family but the whole society. As the biggest beneficiaries of the central government’s major schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) and Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, women have experienced financial dependence and freedom from daily difficulties, the love and support they have given in return is unprecedented. Our respected Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi has also informed the Indian women living abroad. The Prime Minister’s development -oriented works have received clear support from women. Women power is now the most important factor for the economic development of the country.

Maghbhai Patel said at the end of his speech that when we see ancient Indian texts and scriptures, we see strong women. She was the axis around which civilizations have flourished, but a range of attacks and invasions have posed a threat to civilization. In this dark era, women suffered all kinds of torture and misconduct. Whatever the reason, there is no doubt that we are still struggling for the empowerment of women all over the world. This issue is coming out with every passing day. Due to this, the Government of India has launched many women empowerment schemes in India compared to other countries. There is no doubt that these schemes will pave the way for leadership development for women. Many such service organizations work in every part of the country. If we help such institutions by giving donations and by giving benefits of government schemes, then there will be horizontal development of women and needy people and surely it will be considered an important contribution in the development of the country.
