India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast dense to very dense fog at most places over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. IMD said dense to very dense fog is also likely in isolated places over northern parts of Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir and the Lower division of Himachal Pradesh.

Cold day conditions are likely at many places over Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh and isolated places over Uttar Pradesh. As per IMD, very dense fog conditions are likely to prevail over many parts of Punjab and Uttar Pradesh till Thursday. IMD has issued a red warning in Punjab and Haryana for today.

Delhi woke up to a dense layer of fog. However, the Met department has forecast shallow fog for the rest of the day. Delhi’s temperature was recorded at 13 degrees Celsius this morning. Several trains coming to, from and through the national capital were delayed due to the foggy conditions.

In an advisory for dense fog, the Met department has asked drivers to use fog lights and travellers to stay updated on the schedules of airlines, railways, and state transport. Meanwhile, the air quality in the national capital remains in the ‘very poor’ category with the AQI level standing at 392.
