Light to moderate rain is being observed at various places in North India including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan from late night. India Meteorological Department (IMD) said a fresh western disturbance seen as a trough in middle tropospheric westerlies is likely to affect Northwest India till tomorrow.
IMD has also forecast light to moderate widespread rainfall and snowfall accompanied by thunderstorms, gusty winds and hailstorms at isolated places over North India including Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand till Monday. As per the weather agency, light to moderate widespread rainfall is also likely over West Bengal and Northeast India till Tuesday. IMD also said that isolated heavy rainfall and snowfall are likely over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand today. It said that strong surface winds are very likely over Northwest India today.
On the cold weather, IMD said that dense fog conditions are very likely to prevail in the morning hours in Odisha, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura till tomorrow. Cold day conditions in Himachal Pradesh are likely to persist till today.
