The current season of IPL 2025 has been postponed indefinitely due to the India-Pakistan dispute. This big step was taken at the BCCI meeting on 9E. At the same time, it was said by the BCCI that when the country is fighting war, then it does not seem good for cricket.
There will be no match from today. At the same time, the first priority of BCCI is to send back foreign players. Along with this, the BCCI will announce new dates soon.
In fact, till 8 May Thursday, there were 58 matches of IPL 2025, including the match of Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals. The match held in Dharamshala on 8 May due to India-Pakistan tension was canceled in the middle. At the same time, Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium of Dharamshala was evacuated. A special train was run to bring the players to Delhi from Kedharmashala.
The same reason for the IPL has been stopped. Now the rest of the world’s largest cricket league matches will be done only after the situation is normal. Its dates will be announced soon. An option may also be that the empty stadium should be competed, the audience should be banned from the stadium.
On Thursday, the match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals was canceled in Dharamshala after warning of airstrikes in neighboring cities Jammu and Pathankot. Since then, the future of the season was clouded by uncertainty. A BCCI official told PTI that it does not seem good that cricket is going on when war is going on in the country.
