India, China is trying to rectify relations again: External Affairs Minister Jaishankar

Foreign Minister S Jaishankar said on Wednesday that India and China are trying to re -establish relations after tension with clashes in the Galwan Valley in 2020 as stressful relations will not be beneficial for any side.

In a dialogue session organized by the major “Think-Tank” Asia Society, Jaishankar said that there may be differences between India and China in the near future, but they should not become a dispute.

Referring to the clashes in the Galwan Valley, the Foreign Minister said that what happened in 2020 was really very regrettable for the relationship. Jaishankar said, “We are still dealing with some parts of it, it is not that the issue is completely over.” He said that there has been some improvement in India-China relations since October last year.

The Foreign Minister said, “We are working on various aspects of it. Jaishankar said, “The business is currently undergoing a very active and intense discussion.” After the talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Trump in Washington last month, both sides announced an initial talks about the bilateral trade agreement (BTA) by 2025.

Jaishankar said that there has been a lot of open discussion on the issue of trade and this is the result of Prime Minister Modi and US President Trump’s decision to make bilateral trade agreement by this year.
