India will play a big role in the changing world, provided we do not become a hanger

Last week, when the India-Pakistan ceasefire was assessing the claims and disadvantages of the victory defeat after the land of ceasefire, and the President Trump, who was trying to take credit for fire-firing again and again, was signing a new chapter of Europe and Britain history in Brussels at the same time. A history that was silently leading a polar world towards the multi -polar world. The strategic agreement signed by the European Union and Britain in the cold winds of Brussels on 19 May 2025 included security, defense, Ukraine support, migration, climate, education and business, it also had a glimpse of a strong will power to create a new Europe beyond American umbrella.
The agreement was the result of the months of confidential conversation of months, which began with the abusive neglect and disregard of President Trump in January 2025. It was not a symbol of the stubbornness of Europe, not the ointment on the old wounds of Brexit, which is now looking for a new path after the American divorce.
Earlier this year, when President Donald Trump stepped into the White House, shaking his golden hair, he probably did not even know that his spectacle would write a new screenplay on the world stage. A script, in which America, the most powerful country in the world will fall alone, then Europe will remember India and China, taking steps on this path – that of India who had caught the path of Non -aligning since the time of Nehru. Today, Europe feels that Nehru’s paths were fine, he lost many decades depending on America.
Trump’s spectacle: Divorce script
Perhaps Trump will not even know that his poisonous statements towards Europe will change the condition and direction of world politics. On 20 January 2025, Trump took an oath of his second term at Washington DC. Subsequently, at a rally in Pennsylvania on 15 March 2025, he held NATO a “useless burden” and described Europe as a “American treasury guest”. On 10 April 2025, in front of Orthodox donors in Texas, he termed the EU’s Green Deal as “economic murder”, saying “Why should American workers bear the burden of Europe’s climate dreams?”
These sharp statements of Trump were not an instantaneous tunny. His first term as President (2017–2021) was also filled with similar taunts, when he called NATO an “old structure”, described Germany as a “slave of Russia”, and called the EU a “benefit of America”. At that time, Europe was surprised and shocked, but now, in 2025, it has anger in Europe’s eyes, fists are tied, and intentions are firm. Trump’s divorce has become a new dawn invitation to Europe.

Europe’s pen: rebellion in satire
The insults of Trump challenged the pride of Europe, while the pen of Europe wrote a reply from the ink of rebellion. On 5 May 2025, French newspaper Le Mond wrote in his editorial, “Trump made it clear that Europe is an old coat for him, which he is ready to throw in the junk.” On 20 April 2025, Der Spigel of Germany taunted, “Trump downs us because they only see Shakti in bomb-bars. But Europe’s strength is his diplomacy, his stability, his patience.”
On 15 April 2025, the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR) at Brussels announced in its paper No Longar Partners: A Post-Atlantic Europe that “Transitant alliance is now a matter of history. Autonomy is no longer a dream, not a dream, but needs.” The fact is that Europe and America were once two Jiggeri friends of the world platform. In 1949, the two together laid the foundation of NATO, rebuilt Europe through the martial plan (1948–1952). On 11 September 2001, after the 9/11 attacks, NATO first applied Article 5, and Europe’s troops fought with the US in Afghanistan. In the 2008 economic crisis, European banks along with the US Federal Reserve handled the global markets. But these are all old stories for Trump, which they want to convert into a bookkeeping book. Trump Mane Deal.
EU-UK Agreement: New path, new partner
In Trump’s first term, his attitude was cursed by Europe. But for the second time, Washington had the same attitude, so hurt Brussels and London wrote a new song, which was sung on 19 May 2025. However, its practice was running confidentially since January 2025. This is not an attempt to forget the bitterness of Brexit, but there is a new relationship – in which two old friends are getting angry and hugging them with equal.
Remember that the Labor Government of Kir Stmper in Britain extended the hand of friendship towards Europe as soon as he took power in July 2024. On 18 July 2024, the stormer hosted the European Political Community Summit at the Blenhem Palace. On 10 September 2024, Foreign Secretary David Lammy participated in the EU Foreign Affairs Council. On 15 October 2024, London and Berlin signed the Trinity House Agreement, which was a historic defense cooperation. On 1 November 2024, the “Special Partnership” plan started with Poland. Europe has moved towards self -sufficiency with the crooked attitude of Trump.
NATO crisis
What Trump said, he shook NATO, as if an old house trembled with a gust of wind. On 15 March 2025, Trump in Pennsylvania threatened to leave NATO and demanded 5% GDP defense spending. Out of 32 members of NATO, 23 are yet to meet 2% GDP target, the target of 5% is far -fetched. So what will happen to NATO. Although the new general secretary, appointed in October 2024, Mark Rute, is advocating to increase European expenses, so that the US remains together, the real decision of the solidarity of this alliance will be held on 10 June 2025 at the NATO Summit in The Hague on 10 June 2025.
The EU’s self -respecting self -respect is hitting after the American shock. Europe does not want to sit on anyone. In January 2024, the EU accelerated the European Defense Association plan, including € 7.5 billion defense fund and Joint Command Center. On 15 March 2025, the European Defense Industrial Strategy was announced, appointed a Defense Commissioner. The defense industry of Europe is still scattered, and dependence on American weapons is a challenge. However, as the ECFR states, the “network of bilateral agreements” can increase the collective power of Europe. All these efforts are introducing the new flight of Europe. Trump not only woke up Europe, but has also dared him to fly on his wings. The EU has now become an independent player.
Remember India
The European Brugal Think Tank exactly stated in one of its analysis, “Trump’s back to retreat brings opportunity with risk.” So when Trump handed the divorce notice, Europe looked at India in search of a new friend. On 10 February 2025, the EU-India Summit was held in New Delhi, which included EU President Ursula von Der Leyen. It was decided to expand the 2021 Indo-EU strategic roadmap. Trade talks are moving towards the free trade agreement by December 2025.
Trade between India and EU reached € 120 billion in 2024, and it is expected to grow further in 2025. India’s GDP growth was fine in 2024, and its defense export is on the way to reach $ 5 billion in 2025. Companies like Tata and Infosys are investing in data centers and AI projects in Europe. In defense, India’s Tejas fighter aircraft and BrahMos missiles are on the radar of Europe. India’s friendship with the EU can give a new shape to the global power balance. If India follows Nehru’s old Non -Aligned Policy, it can give him the strength to balance the US, EU and Global South.
New theater of world stage
In January this year, the EU announced a plan to abolish gas imports from Russia by 2027. The EU’s GDP ($ 18.8 trillion, 2024) is equivalent to the US, its population (450 million) more than that, and its regulatory power (eg GDPR) shapes global markets. The EU standards in AI and Green Technology are now global benchmarks.
On the other hand, China is taking advantage of the US retreat with its belt and road 2.0 and technical exports. Russia is having fun with isolated, NATO cracks from the West and the disbelief of Washington-Brucells. But India? He is in a position to become the new hero of the World Forum. India’s increasing influence in trade, technology and defense makes him a favorite partner of Europe.

End of American dominance?
On March 20, 2025, Ursula von Der Leyen in Strasbourg said, “Europe will no longer be a pawn of US elections. We are sovereign.” This speech was a symbol of the new courage of Europe. This sovereignty is a product of Trump’s spectacle. New alliances are being formed, and global South – India, Brazil, Indonesia – are looking eagerly. On 10 May 2025, former Italian Prime Minister Anricho Latta said, “Trump united Europe – not by a fire, by fire.” Perhaps Trump inadvertently became a carrier of European autonomy.
But is India ready?
The EU-UK agreement is a symbol of a major change. The world after World War II, which revolved around America, is now changing. This agreement is not a reset, but a account. Trump’s decisions have given Europe a shock and a lesson of centuries. That is why he is missing India. The question is whether India is ready? The answer will be found only when India is diplomacy with sovereignty, gentleness and strategic depth. India will have to play the role of a serious, united, strong and visionary nation. It is also important that we do not become a hanger of any country. Trump’s friendship has not left India anywhere. It is better that we remain non -aligned. Because this is a new era. There are not a single pole, but there are many centers, the success of diplomacy is politely, neither loud nor from Lappi Jhappi. In the latest clash between India Pakistan, we saw who is standing with us. We have to introspect. Not rhetoric and strict attitude, but humility and patience will be the diplomatic currency of this new era. It is right to say that we want friends, but to say that we do not want to preach, cannot be the language of diplomacy. Better diplomacy is done with silence and sweetness. A good diplomat is one who still remains a friend of an enemy when he is planning to destroy it. In diplomacy, the stream has to be identified, not waves. Winston Churchill said: “Diplomacy is the art of saying people to go to hell in such a way that they ask the way.” (Diplomacy is the art of telling someone to go to hell in such a way that they ask for directions.)
