Washington. Indian Americans organized a solidarity rally in Silicon Valley, a city in the US state of California, to protest against the violence against Hindus in Canada and Bangladesh. Urged to be held accountable.
More than two lakh Indian Americans live in the Bay Area of Silicon Valley. A media release said people at the rally expressed disappointment over the way the incident of attack on Hindus by Khalistanis at the Hindu Sabha temple in Brampton was handled. In the rally, people raised slogans like ‘Stop Khalistani terrorism, protect Canadian-Hindus’, ‘Stop Islamic terrorism, protect Bangladeshi-Hindus’. “We saw videos of Khalistani terrorists entering the temple premises and beating up men, women and children,” the release said. It was disturbing to see Hindus who had gone to celebrate the festival of Diwali being harassed by those goons.
The release said, “We saw that the police had already infiltrated with Khalistan supporters and were beating Hindu devotees…” Dr. Ramesh Japra of ‘Americans for Hindus’ spoke about Khalistanis in Canada. And condemned the attacks on Hindus by fundamentalist groups in Bangladesh. Pushpita Prasad of ‘Coalition of Hindus in North America’ (COHNA) expressed concern over her team in Canada being targeted by ‘Sikhs for Justice’. This organization is banned in India, but works freely in the US and Canada.
