Indonesia Open: The journey of Satvik-Chirag ended, defeat from Malaysian pair

The journey of India’s top men’s doubles pair of Satwiksai Raj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty ended in the quarter -finals of the Indonesia Open Super 1000 tournament. The Satvik-Chairag pair lost on Friday against the pair of Malaysian’s Maan Wei Chong and Ti Kai Vun. The world’s former number one Indian pair became the winner of this tournament in 2023.
The Satvik-Chairag pair lost 19-21, 16–21 against the Malaysian pair in a 43-minute match. This is the first win in the last five matches against Satwik-Chairg of Chong Vun’s pair. The Indian challenge in this tournament ended with the defeat of Satvik-Chirag. The Indian pair had to struggle in their service and returns. Man Vun won Malaysia Masters and Indonesia Masters in January last month.
 
In the first game, Satwik hit two shots on the net, leading to the Malaysian team 9–7. He was ahead 11-9 till the interval. The Indian pair then showed a little aggressive game and equaled 11–11, but Man and Vun took a 15–12 lead. The Malaysian players hit a shot on the net twice, after which the Indians returned to the score of 17–17, but they could not take advantage of it. Satvik again missed the net and gave the game point to the Malaysian team.
In the second game too, the Indian team did not start well and she was trailing 3-7 at one time. The Malaysian team also showed a good game even after this and made the difference between the two teams 15-9. The Indian pair, however, was not ready to give up easily and soon reduced the score to 16–18. The Malaysia team, however, won four matches points after this and made it to the semi -finals by winning without any hassle.
