International Yoga Day | PM Modi gave a message on Yoga Day, ‘Yoga gives us the message of connecting the world’

International Yoga Day 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi led this year’s International Yoga Day celebrations to Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. The main event took place at a distance of 26 km from Ramakrishna Beach to Bhogapuram, in which about 3 lakh participants participated in the collective yoga session. The 11th International Yoga Day is being celebrated under the theme “Ek Earth, Yoga for a Health” worldwide on the morning of 21 June. International Yoga Day has been celebrated worldwide since 2015 following the United Nations resolution.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Saturday that yoga gives us the message of connecting the world and it is not bound by boundaries, background, age or capacity. Prime Minister Modi while addressing the participants of the 11th International Yoga Day said that when India proposed to celebrate June 21 as International Yoga Day in the United Nations, 175 countries accepted it in no time.

He said that after 11 years, yoga has now become a part of the lives of crores of people around the world. He said, “Whether it is Sydney Opera House or Everest Mountains or Samudra, the message is that yoga is for everyone.” The Prime Minister said that the world is going through some tension. He said, “I request the world to make this Yoga Day a symbol of the beginning of Yoga 2.0 for humanity where inner peace becomes a global policy.” He said that yoga gives us the message of connecting the world and it is not bound by boundaries, background, age or capacity.

He said that yoga is a personal discipline, it is also a system that leads people from “I” to “We”. Later the Prime Minister did yoga with the people. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu also addressed the event. Naidu said that Modi made yoga popular not only in India but worldwide and turned it into a global welfare movement.

Naidu said that Yoga Day is being celebrated at 12 lakh places in more than 175 countries, in which more than 10 crore people are participating. Naidu said, “I thank our visionary Prime Minister Narendra Modi not only in India (but) for popularizing yoga around the world. He started International Yoga Day through the United Nations and made Yoga a global welfare movement.
