ipl 2025 brad haddin and sunil joshi join punjab kings under ricky ponting management

Punjab Kings have decided to retain most of their support staff following the arrival of new head coach Ricky Ponting, with only fast bowling coach James Hopes likely to join the team for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Ponting, who was appointed head coach last month, had taken the services of Australian player James Hopes while he was the head coach of Delhi Capitals.

Spin bowling coach Sunil Joshi, batting and fielding coaches Brad Haddin and Trevor Gonsalves have been retained for the upcoming season. Bayliss was the head coach last year and Sanjay Bangar was the head of cricket development. But both are now out of the coaching set up.

“Brad Haddin and Sunil have been retained,” an IPL source told PTI. James Hopes is likely to become the fast bowling coach.” Ponting has been appointed on a four-year contract in the hope of changing the team’s fortunes as the Punjab team has never won the IPL.

The only final the team reached was in 2014. In the last seven stages the team failed to even make it to the top five. At the beginning of this year, it was ranked ninth among 10 teams. Ponting is yet to decide on the retention of players ahead of the mega auction whose deadline is October 31.
